End of the month

Just some shots from last week. Nicky charged it on 3.3 with some wind waves coming in. We tested the new Hot Sails Maui GPS prototype and there was a cool SUP competition at Ho'okipa. The waves were small but most kids were still ripping it. 

Yesterday I went to Ho'okipa and Bart de Zwart  was sailing. Not as big as jaws and he sure shows how he feels about that.

The grey fish perspective

Last week the wind has been howling. Super strong. Time to take a break! It was time for some relaxation and a bit of sightseeing. Kihei was on the map first. Kihei is more touristy than the north shore. More tourist shops, a nice beginner break. That one was not really happening this day.

After that of to Big Beach. A gnarly shore break that can take you out in a slight second. And there was not even swell. Next time I will do an update only about this break, why? Because me Like!

Hawaiian Heineken, looks a bit lame but hey. The Dutch are not forgotten.

My Ho'okipa Stories p.2

And there I went again. This time it was !@!### windy. My smallest wavesail was 4.7 and it was windy for 4.0. But whatever, I took the 4.7 and went for part 2. As I'm honest, I still suck in wavesailing. My jumps are okay but my waveriding, aaaiii caramba amigo. But time will learn. This time not a good story behind it, just some shots and no rock pictures ;).

My Ho'okipa Stories p.1

Hi, my name is Paul. I'm now in Maui and I was super excited to go to Ho'okipa. So there I went. Patrik Diethelm Trailer wave 78 and Hot Sails Maui Firelight 4.7. Ready to hit the lip.

 Hmmm....those rocks are close. I really thought they told me there was a channel somewhere here??

 Aaah.. I found it. Lets rock this place!

 Yeah down the line small wave for safety.

 Okay I just need to waterstart. The wind is super light, but I'm sure I can get past this wave.

 NOTTTTTT..... see ya later gear!

Okay where is my gear. Lets get it and go for another run.

Do I have to say more? Maui sucks. Nothing to do here.....really!

Oooh and actually, it was freezing here. There was ice on top. Just stupid. Tropic island and freezing. I wonder how Holland is.

Tourist

The days are filled with action. Everyday we can either surf or windsurf. Last days have been particularly good for surfing. Lowers Kanaha, overhead and a longboard. We also did some sightseeing. It was really nice. But lets think of stuff that is not nice on the island. That's also good to read. Maybe better. Okay, last night was super rainy. Some big ass cockroaches popped up. The wind is light to zero this week. And that is about it. Some more horrible stuff soon!
